This refurbished Dell PowerEdge R740 is a part of Dells latest server range, Generation 14.
The R740 takes advantage of Intel’s new line of Xeon scalable processors. Choose from either, Bronze, Silver, Gold or Platinum. This system can hold a maximum of 2 2nd gen processors with up to 28 cores in each processors totaling up to 56 cores when using a dual processor configuration. This server can support up to 24 registered (RDIMM) or load reduced (LRDIMM) DDR4 memory modules when 2 processors have been selected. If only one processors will be installed in the system then only 12 memory slots will be available.
There are 2 chassis options for the Dell R740, there’s a 16x 2.5” hard drives or an 8x 3.5” hard drive. Both versions are compatible with SAS, SATA and nearline SAS HDD’s / SSD’s. This version can house up to 16x 2.5” hard drives, if you would require a different chassis please click here.
